A man in Michigan allegedly attempted to shoot CNN employees at their headquarters in Atlanta.
It was reported the man called the network at least 22 times accusing the network of reporting “fake news.”
In one of the calls, the man whose name was not released told the CNN operator “Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down”. In another threating call, the man said “I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours”.
It’s reported that the man also said “I am coming to Georgia right now to go to the CNN headquarters to f*****g gun down every single last one of you”.
The call was traced by the FBI and the man was arrested before being to cause any physical harm to anyone.
“We take any threats to CNN employees or workplaces, around the world, extremely seriously. This one is no exception. We have been in touch with local and federal law enforcement throughout, and have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our people” CNN said in a statement.
