Navy Strike Group Training to Interfere with GPS

The U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group 4 is doing training exercises off the coast of Georgia that can interfere with GPS and other navigation systems. The training exercises kicked off on January 16 and will run through January 24. Pilots flying over the Southeast United States may find their GPS and navigational systems not functioning properly or functioning at all. Pilots can be effected up 460 miles from the location where the Navy training is taking place and from 50 feet up to 40,000 feet above the ground. These training exercises are nothing unusual as the same type of exercises were conducted at this time last year in 2019.
